FirstThursdays Late opening: 4th October 2018

Late Night Open Invitation

Thursday 4th October 2018
5:30 – 8:00 Free entry
167 High Street, Tonbridge, Kent TN9 1BX

Refreshments served.

We are teaming up with the OBS Gallery and their exhibition 4B: Contemporary Drawing, which is also having a special late night opening until 8:30.

Introducing…
New guest artist Julie G Frampton

Julie G Frampton is a Tonbridge-based painter and member of the Earthbound Women artist group.

Mostly she uses the things close to her – the trees in her garden, the pots in her kitchen as the subjects of her work. Using a variety of drawing and painting materials she works until the image has a vibration and a sense of something just captured, as something seen on the surface of water broken by the wind.

Make 4th of October an art night out!

Visit ArtSpring Gallery & OBS Gallery at Tonbridge School

4B: Contemporary Drawing is opening at OBS Gallery on 29th September and will run until 10th November.  It is open each weekend 10-4pm.
ArtSpring Gallery will link up with the OBS Gallery late opening on the 4th of October. Refreshments will be available at both venues, and there’ll be a curator’s talk at 7pm at OBS Gallery with a tour of the exhibits and an insight into the artists’ work.

On the theme of drawing, also look out for drawings by our artists in the gallery as part of the Big Draw October.

Here is a concertina drawing by Ruth McDonald, and we will be sharing more drawings on our social media site, so do look out for them on facebook, twitter or instagram.

New work in the gallery in October…

The gallery is brimming with colour for the Autumn exhibition, so come in and discover what our artists have been busy creating.

Our members news…

We are excited that several of our members will be exhibiting at St Peter & St Paul church from Friday 7th to Sunday 9th September with a Celebration of Flowers, Art & Creativity. This includes work from Christine Highland, Sarah de Mattos, Karen Summers and Claire Longley.

Last chance to see…
Make sure to catch up on Angela Rumble’s tree paintings and unique hand-built ceramic vases before the end of September.

Out & about: Contemporary Glass

It is quite unusual to have an entire exhibition devoted to glass so our members Hildegard Pax and Hilary Shields are delighted to be part of the Glorious Glass! exhibition at the Maidstone Museum, organised by the Contemporary Glass Society to celebrate their 20th anniversary.

Looking ahead…

We are busy planning out the next few months at the gallery and want to share some dates & events with you:
