‘Meet the Artists’ afternoon
Come and browse whilst enjoying some cake and fizz at ArtSpring Gallery when we are excited to introduce our guest artists for June and July.
Saturday 1st June 2 – 4pm
167 High Street, Tonbridge, Kent TN9 1BX
Guest artist : Christa Corner
Christa took up textile design and screen printing in the late 80s, followed by batik, felt- and paper making. Her work as a textile and paper artist began in earnest in 1993 when she experimented with commercially available papers which she worked into collage and 3D forms.
She has exhibited widely in group shows and had solo exhibitions at the Barbican Centre, London and Trinity Arts Centre, Tunbridge Wells. Her work has been published in Artists and Illustrators Magazine, Fiberarts Design Book Six, Batik for Artists and Quilters, Papermaking Techniques, Batik: Transitions from Classic to Contemporary, and SATURA, the Italian cultural magazine and is held in private collections in the UK, France, Germany, Sweden, Dubai and Australia.
Guest artist : Jane Bridger
We are thrilled that Jane is returning to artSpring as a guest artist once again. Her work is mostly thrown on the wheel and often classical in form, inspiration coming from the ceramics of ancient Persia and the world around us. With a great love of experimenting with glazes, decorating and firing techniques, her work is mostly stoneware fired, although she also enjoys earthenware and raku.
She has been working in Ceramics and teaching the subject at Tunbridge Wells Adult Education Centre for many years, and is a member of The Society of Women Artists and an active member of the Kent Potters Association. Her work is sold at Art in Clay, Hatfield House and Farnham, and in exhibitions and various galleries in London and the South of England.

Tonbridge Business Awards
Celebrating businesses and employers in Tonbridge
There is a new initiative to celebrate the many fantastic businesses in the Borough
If you are enthusiastic about having our artist-run gallery in town, maybe you would like to nominate us in one of the categories? To do so, please click on the TBA image.
We would be eligible for the New Business under 5 years (In July we’ll be celebrating our 3rd Birthday!) and we also like to think of us as having made a great contribution to Tonbridge High Street, being the only art gallery in town.
Any vote would be really appreciated, especially since we are a not-for-profit group of local people.
Nominations close at 5pm on 10th May. The judges will then pour through the nominations and decide on the winning businesses.
Good luck to everyone with this fantastic initiative!
