‘Meet the Artists’ afternoon
Come and browse our new Spring Show and enjoy some cake and fizz at ArtSpring Gallery when we are excited to introduce our guest artist for May and June.
Saturday 4th May 2-4pm
167 High Street, Tonbridge, Kent TN9 1BX
Guest artist : Rob Frampton-Fell
Rob’s work is inspired by artistic influences ranging from the first art book he bought about Francisco Goya at age 14, through to visiting the Abstract Expressionists’ Art Exhibition at the Royal Academy.
He usually starts his work from something observed and photographed such as: places, landscapes, peculiar combinations of objects, fantastic natural and man-made colour combinations, anything that grasps his attention. From these images lines are drawn and painting begins, the finished work emerging from a free-spirited use of shapes and colours. His work is textured, highly coloured and painted on deep edge canvas in acrylics. Rob likes to call his style of work fauvist-abstract expression and works are original one-off pieces.
Last chance to see :
… work by our ceramicist Mike Evans
who leaves us for a creative break at the end of this month. We look forward to welcoming him back as a guest artist in the future.
… work by our guest artist Giles Whitehead
If you have had your eye on one of Giles’s paintings or haven’t had a chance to come in and see his work yet, you have got until the end of April to pop in and admire his artworks.

Tonbridge Business Awards
Celebrating businesses and employers in Tonbridge
There is a new initiative to celebrate the many fantastic businesses in the Borough
If you are enthusiastic about having our artist-run gallery in town, maybe you would like to nominate us in one of the categories? To do so, please click on the TBA image.
We would be eligible for the New Business under 5 years (In July we’ll be celebrating our 3rd Birthday!) and we also like to think of us as having made a great contribution to Tonbridge High Street, being the only art gallery in town.
Any vote would be really appreciated, especially since we are a not-for-profit group of local people.
Nominations close at 5pm on 10th May. The judges will then pour through the nominations and decide on the winning businesses.
Good luck to everyone with this fantastic initiative!
