it’s DACS Payback time!

free money for artists…..how to make your claim

Chocolate coins

Would you like some free money?

Not chocolate, but real.

Has your work ever been published in a book, magazine or on TV?

If so, then with a little bit of effort on your part, you will be able to apply for DACS Artists’ Payback

Is your work published? – then you are entitled to claim DACS payback

Payback covers secondary uses of your images, such as photocopying in libraries. It applies to books and magazines published with an ISBN or ISSN, and also to television work.

an ISBN/ISSN or barcode is needed to make your DACS payback claim

The amount that you receive depends on how often your work has been published, so there is no set amount. In 2019, tens of thousands of visual artists and estates were allocated a share of  £4.7 million.

I claim once a year as I have had work published in London Independent Photography magazine and others. I have also self published books with their own ISBN, purchased from Nielsen UK ISBN store, which means that every image included in those books counts towards the Payback calculations.

So what are you waiting for?!

All you need to know are the ISBN or ISSN numbers of the works that you are published in, and to complete a straightforward on line claim form.

Here’s how it works…..

The money is sitting there waiting for you to claim your share. All that it will cost you is a few moments of your time.

And if you don’t bother, then the rest of us will get more!
